Jacob, The Prodigal Son?

I have spent time – probably too much time – discussing eschatology with every form of eschatology that is out there, and one thing has become clear:

Everyone claims that the children of Jacob need to be punished.

The Jews have suffered unspeakable persecution and suffering for two thousand years, yet most Christians believe that this isn’t enough. Most say that the Great Tribulation is the punishment of Israel. A few claim that they are tossed into the Millennium, while we rule over them. Others say that the Jews had their chance, and they don’t get a second one.

I am appalled at this.

Daniel 12 – A Biblical Overview Of Daniel, Part 11

Daniel 12 is the capstone that tells us how to interpret Daniel 11:21-45. It tells us when the Resurrection will be. It tells us that some in the kingdom of God will suffer shame and everlasting contempt in the First Resurrection – just as Jesus told us in His parables. It also tells us how long the Great Tribulation will be.

This is why chapter 12 is a vital part of End Times prophecy. It neutralizes false eschatology. It shows us the direction that we should be looking.

Unfortunately, there are many who do not wish to understand Daniel 12, for it demolishes their carefully crafted idol that they have created by twisting the words of God into something that He does not say.

Also, a special note for those with CLL.

Daniel 11b – A Biblical Overview Of Daniel, Part 10

Last week we went into the part of Daniel 11 that is completely historical. Up until verse 20, everything fit perfectly with the historical record. Verses 21 through 24 appeared to fit with the rise of Antiochus IV Epiphanes. But, from verse 25 onwards, we began to see that this prophecy isn’t about Antiochus.

Of course, we knew that this would happen because Daniel 11 is a warning about the coming of the Antichrist. So, there would need to be differences between Antiochus and the Antichrist.

But, why are there similarities?

As Isaiah 28:13 says, so that the rebellious would “…fall backward, and be broken And snared and caught.”

Things I Got Wrong – Mea Culpa

We all get things wrong. All of us. The question is whether we will admit our errors. And, I can’t remember when a pastor or Bible teacher ever admitted an error. Maybe my memory is bad, but I have no memory of that ever happening.

That’s wrong.

Why?

Because it is literally impossible for a pastor or Bible teacher to never be wrong. And, it’s the number one reason why we must all be experts in the Word of God, so that we can challenge error in our teachers and pastors.

So, let’s talk about a few of my own errors.

War In Israel – Again

I was going to write about something else today, but it seems that events have overtaken the need to talk about Bible translation or eschatology.

But wait, how do we know that this isn’t about eschatology?

Well, of course it is, and I’ve lived through some of what is happening now during the Second Intifada while I was living in Jerusalem. I assure you that this is nothing new, and it is all a part of God’s plan.

Unfortunately, it still hurts to see Israel and Israelis suffer. May God give them peace, and may the day when they recognize their Messiah come soon.

Bad Eschatology And An Announcement

After getting both books out a month ago, I went looking for what other people believe about Last Days. It has been a fascinating journey through some really bad eschatology. Worse, very few seem to understand why they believe what they believe, and even fewer seem able to understand why people would disagree with their position. That’s bad.

Our pastors have not been giving us the tools to help us understand the Bible, to rightly divide the word of Truth (2 Tim 2:15). And, because we are unable to do so, Christianity has devolved into a team sport, where ours is always right and yours is heresy.

Ezekiel’s Fire, 6th Edition

After more than ten years of writing and rewriting, Ezekiel’s Fire has finally reached its final version. It spells doom for our way of life. Stars just like our own are flashing brightly with civilization-killing superflares, thousands of times bigger than anything we’ve ever seen from our own sun.

These observations confirm what the Bible has been saying. For a moment, our sun will brighten by seven times, and a vast cloud of dust will sweep by earth, obscuring the stars and destroying our civilization. Unfortunately, that confirmation means that billions will die as every city, around the world is crushed in the biggest earthquake since The Great Flood.
