Zechariah Part 12

We will kill billions of people in the first four verses, but there’s also a blessing that cannot come without this horrifying event.

Like Ezekiel 38 and 39, Zechariah 12 and 13 are a single vision. Stephen Langton, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Canterbury, broke this vision into two pieces, and was very foolish in doing so. And, putting that artificial break in the middle made it harder to see that Zechariah 14 is not connected at all to the previous two chapters. Chapters 12 and 13 begin with an attack upon Jerusalem and the region of Judah. It continues with their repentance and the acceptance of Jesus as their savior. Zechariah 14 is a completely different story.

Zechariah Part 10

As we move into chapter 10, we will ask ourselves if this has already been fulfilled or not. After all, some elements of unfulfilled prophecy sometimes look a lot like what has already happened.

There will be verses in this chapter that will tell us with utter finality that this really is a prophecy about the future. And the events unfolding as I write this, seem to show that this future is much closer than we thought.

So, let’s go hunting for those verses.

Zechariah Part 6

Zechariah 5 provides us with an almost impossible challenge. And, I don’t know how much of what ANYONE says should be considered accurate. However, the wording seems to indicate a time in the future, a future where our civilization isn’t what it is today. And, it may be that the Land of Shinar becomes something that we wouldn’t have expected.

Furthermore, we have some fantastic imagery, a flying scroll, the only time that we have ever seen female angels described in the Bible, a woman who represents wickedness and the basket that she is carried is about nine gallons.

This is heavy stuff, so let’s dig in.

Three Warnings

Over the past few days, I have seen three warning signs of trouble ahead. You will have seen none of them in the mainstream media. You won’t even have seen them in any of the ‘alternative’ media. In fact, you wouldn’t have ANY chance of seeing them, unless you were watching key information sources in two of the three areas we will talk about.

But, if the right people start making the right decisions, right now… we can avoid short term disaster. We might even avoid longer term disaster. Unfortunately, I don’t see any ‘right decisions’ being made.

Things I Got Wrong – Mea Culpa

We all get things wrong. All of us. The question is whether we will admit our errors. And, I can’t remember when a pastor or Bible teacher ever admitted an error. Maybe my memory is bad, but I have no memory of that ever happening.

That’s wrong.

Why?

Because it is literally impossible for a pastor or Bible teacher to never be wrong. And, it’s the number one reason why we must all be experts in the Word of God, so that we can challenge error in our teachers and pastors.

So, let’s talk about a few of my own errors.

Gog And Magog – A Strategic Assessment

People have been wondering if the coming of Gog and Magog is imminent. It’s a simple question with a very complicated answer, and even if you are not curious about the timing of this vast invasion of Israel, you will still benefit from the discussion. For those of you who want the short answer, here it is:

Until Turkey and Iran are allies, Gog and Magog is impossible.

We seem to be a very long way from that moment, but the Devil is literally in the details. When those details change, watch out for the worst moment in human history since the Great Flood. (Only the Great Tribulation will be worse.)

War In Israel – Again

I was going to write about something else today, but it seems that events have overtaken the need to talk about Bible translation or eschatology.

But wait, how do we know that this isn’t about eschatology?

Well, of course it is, and I’ve lived through some of what is happening now during the Second Intifada while I was living in Jerusalem. I assure you that this is nothing new, and it is all a part of God’s plan.

Unfortunately, it still hurts to see Israel and Israelis suffer. May God give them peace, and may the day when they recognize their Messiah come soon.
